For general contractors

Get paid for finished work, without the argument.

If one of your lenders uses Renny, this is what changes: the scope is agreed in writing before you start, you evidence work as you go, and the draw clears without a phone call chain.

What it is worth to you

  • A signed scope means fewer “that was supposed to be included” conversations
  • Evidence attached as you go, instead of assembled under pressure at the end
  • A draw that clears on the record rather than on someone’s availability
  • A change order the homeowner has actually approved, in writing, before you do the work
  • A record that protects you when a homeowner remembers the job differently

Why bother

The record is on your side too

Most disputes on a job are not about the work. They are about what was agreed. When the scope is frozen, the change order is signed, and the photographs are tied to the line items you claimed, “that is not what we discussed” stops being a matter of memory.

The same evidence that protects the lender protects the contractor who did the work properly.

What you never have to do

  • Chase an invoice through somebody’s inbox
  • Guess why a draw is sitting — the reason is on the screen
  • Re-photograph a job because nobody knows which room the picture was of
  • Argue about a change nobody wrote down

Getting set up

What onboarding involves

Four steps, and the reason a draw is waiting is always visible on the job — so the answer to “where is my money?” is never “paperwork”.

It is front-loaded on purpose. Once you are through it, every project with that lender starts faster.

1

You are invited

By a lender you already work with, or by Renny. You do not apply cold and wait.

2

Application

Your trade, your license details, your insurance, and who at your company does what. Once, not once per lender.

3

Licence verification

We verify your license and track its expiry. You get told before it lapses rather than after a draw is refused.

4

Training

A short curriculum on authorization, consent, evidence, and change orders. Every lesson has a full written transcript, so you can read it on a job site instead of finding somewhere quiet to watch a video. The assessment is five questions.

5

Approval and enrollment

You are approved with a funding limit, and enrolled in the specific lender programs you will take work on.

6

Ongoing standing

Your standing is reviewed on a schedule. Clean documentation, resolved issues, and stable scopes all count in your favour when the limit is revisited.

Day to day

How a job runs

Photographs are taken inside Renny against a specific line item, with the time and location captured at the shutter. Nothing is pulled from a camera roll afterwards, which is what makes the evidence worth anything.
  • Agree the scope. Line by line, with exclusions and allowances written down. Both you and the homeowner sign it before work starts.
  • Do the work, evidence as you go. Photographs attach to the line item they show. It takes seconds on site and saves an afternoon later.
  • Request a draw. Against percentages of the scope you already agreed — nothing re-typed, nothing to reconcile.
  • Both parties attest. You confirm the work is complete; the homeowner confirms they agree. Two independent signatures, not one form.
  • The lender is told to pay. Renny clears the draw against the record. You are not chasing anyone for a status.

Change orders, properly

Work changes. That is construction, not misconduct. What causes disputes is a change nobody wrote down.

In Renny a change order is a new agreed version of the scope. The homeowner approves it in plain terms before you continue, and the lender is brought in once the project’s growth passes their threshold. Your completed work carries over — you are not re-evidencing what you already finished.

The version they signed stays exactly as it was, so nobody can claim the scope was quietly rewritten.

Straight answers

What Renny asks of you, and what it does not

What we ask

  • Agree the scope in writing before you start
  • Photograph the work you are claiming for, on site
  • Complete the training once, and keep the certificate current
  • Raise a change order before doing work that is not in the scope
  • Respond when a homeowner raises an issue

What we do not do

  • We do not set your prices or take a cut of your work
  • We do not decide whether the homeowner gets a loan
  • We do not hold your money or pay you — the lender does that
  • We do not share your record with lenders you do not work with
  • We do not rank or score you publicly

If a homeowner disputes something

Pending draws on that project pause until it is settled — and that cuts both ways. You get to put your side on the record, in writing, and the pause lifts automatically when the matter is resolved. Nobody is deciding it in a phone call you were not on.
